Query: The big question is what to do in India. Suggestion: Become a professional party-crasher! Crash a wedding, gatecrash a birthday party, dance like nobody''s watching, and eat like there''s no tomorrow.
PS: Not sure what your intentions are with this post. Are you asking for suggestions on how to enjoy your retirement??

The problem with India right now is heavy taxes, inflation and the worsening climate. You need a sizeable monthly income to survive there now. Electricity bills eat away at your pocket so better to get into some small business or shares/futures/options trading.

My strong suggestion is to join with any association and work as a social worker. It will be a blessing to others as well as to you. May be in the next time you can be one of the member of Panchayat and can do more. Do not sit at home which will ruin your health. I remember after retirement my father involved in the social work to help the farmers. He get fertilizers, machinery with good subsidies from government which the farmers don''t have awareness. Before these subsidied items were taken by the mafia with out informing the farmers. So involve in such activities. Stay blessed and best wishes.

@VS: What are you trying to imply? That Kuwait does not have inflation and is not affected by global climate change? Your comment, "Electricity bills eat away at your pocket," is baseless and tbh absolutely ridiculous.

@ED, VS is absolutely right, India increase in price especially in petrol, consumption and electricity is mind blowing. Just a few days of staying there we realise how much money we need just for day to day activities. I honestly dont know how people manage to make that much money to spend in India (after taxes)

For a Common Man it is all same everywhere. After going to India dont go for Stock Market as it is very Risky & Speculative, equal to Gambling, 9 out of 10 Loose heavily in the Long Run. Small free lancing business ok or if you are Financially secure, go for Social work & give your value addition to our country. All the best. Keep posting from India time to Time, it will be Good Guidance for people here.

Hold your horses, folks! With billions working and surviving in India, you can too... if you''re up for it. Seems some of you are happy with slogging and kissing a$$ for a few dinars, then jetting off to India to ''show off'', And when you return, suddenly it''s all complaints about how pricey things are there. Do you even understand what inflation means? It''s a global phenomenon. @True Indian: Where did I say I do not like Kuwait? You seems to be blowing smoke without any real fire.

ED is partially correct about the inflation. It''s a global phenomenon. What he failed to understand/mention is the food inflation in India is too high as opposed to the global phenomenon. In India it reaches upto to 2 digits percentage in certain months where as most of the large countries manages to keep it negative percentage. This is really a problem for the common men.

At last, a sensible response. Thank you, Rasheed, for engaging. Agreed, food inflation is high but it''s also important to consider the broader context. India is a vast and diverse country with unique economic challenges. Factors such as supply chain disruptions, weather fluctuations, and government policies can contribute to fluctuations in food prices. However, India has implemented various measures like providing food items at subsidized rates (rationing), as well as agricultural policies such as subsidies for seeds and fertilizers. it''s also crucial to take into account India''s total population when making comparisions. Ofcourse, there are challenges, but bluntly saying "inflation is high" or its "expensive in India" does not do justice.
