Do you travel at-least once a year?

Posted on 4/11/2018

Travel insurance is an essential part of travel, full stop. Without it, you’re leaving yourself open to all sorts of problems, some of them devastating, most of them financial.

If the answer to the question (above) is YES! Then,

You most likely purchase travel insurance
- Save money, in case of emergencies
- Unexpected health issues are taken care off
- Logical decision; less liability
- Peace of mind while travelling
You don’t purchase travel insurance
- Trying to save money but end up paying a fortune
- Will see at that point or endure it health wise
- Whether short or long trip; nothing can happen
- Always in an awe of confusion

Travel Insurance: People are travelling more than often - for fun, business and education. Whether it is an international or a domestic trip, it can be enjoyable only when everything goes as per plan. Small delays and mishaps can wreak havoc, causing chaos in your itinerary and draining your money and time.

Benefits of travel insurance:

• Protection from overseas emergencies medical costs
Although most risks associated with travelling are seemingly mitigated when one travels within your country of residence, an insurance package specifically tailored to your clients’ needs could save them money in some unfortunate events.

• Trip Cancellation Cover
If you suddenly find you can't go on your trip for some unforeseen reason such as illness, an accident or a death of a close relative. The important thing to remember here is that for this section to be useful, you have to buy travel insurance when you start booking tickets and not the week before you leave.

• Get cover from disruptions on your trip
A trip interruption occurs when a traveler must unexpectedly cut short his or her trip and return home. Trip interruption insurance can refund lost prepaid costs and cover the cost of your extra accommodations and/or your trip home

• Getting reimbursed for your losses and expenses (Luggage etc.)
If your luggage is stolen, lost or damaged overseas, you can end up significantly out of pocket – and if you don’t have travel insurance, you will be responsible for replacing your items.

• Personal Liability cover
If you are involved in an accident (not car insurance) or accidentally cause damage and are held accountable for it, insurance can cover your liability and legal expenses.

• Death and Disability cover
If you lose your sight, or any of your limbs or you die while on holiday, a disability/death payment will be paid to you.

Travel Tip - Buying travel insurance for the whole year vs single trips: For Frequent flyers it’s always recommended to buy travel insurance for the whole year as it will save you the hassle to buy each time plus the paperwork, payments are easier once for the year and you also end up saving (money) significantly if you take more than a couple of trips a year.
