post office rd

Dear
I have a RD account in my home town post office (village). I shifted my family to other place (city area), but I was continuing the RD which was for 10 years period. I was paying the monthly due through my friend working in the same post office. Later, he was transferred to other location and he is not paying the dues regularly even though I''m sending to him regularly on monthly basis.
Now, I need some advice.. please.. don''t make fun of this.. even though this subject is boring..
1. is there any possibility to send money directly to the post office through online
2. can we transfer the account to my nearest branch in my absence
please advice me..

1. You cannot pay online. 2. You can deposit money in the PO itself as MIS and can ask the PO to take interest from that to the RD. For 1000 RS RD, you may have to deposit around 1.6 or 1.7 L rupees. 3. You can close the RD now and start new one in your place. 4. For long term, it is better to start NRE RD with around 7% interest with banks than starting RD with PO with 8% interest because the money upon maturity became resident money and taxable. 5. PO RD are not for NRIs, strictly as per rules.
