The Modi Bhakts will shortly be posting paeans of praise about the GST - anything their lord and master does is praiseworthy for them.
However what the GST will actually do is increase prices for most commodities and services other than a few basic ones. It is overall a good step because it will unify the country's tax structure in the long term but it has been implemented clumsily and in haste without proper preparation and groundwork. The Modi Government put up a huge celebratory show but the concept of GST in India was born much before the Modi gang came to power. They are just following up on the ideas of the past Government.
Answering your questions all applicable cesses will continue to apply but service tax has been replaced by GST and different rates and rules are applicable. If your rental income is from accommodation rented out for residential purposes up to Rs 20 lakhs rental income annually (Rs 10 lakhs in certain specified states) there is no GST. Beyond that 18% GST will apply. In this case the 20 lakhs limit (Rs 10 lakhs in certain states) includes turnover of all supplies made by you - not just your rental income.

Hi so called "Indian"
Yes - I really love Modi. But as a tea seller, not as a Prime Minister.
And no I am not a Paki. I have an Indian passport and I was born and brought up in independent India. How about you?

@Rangarajan - GST has replaced taxes like service tax, VAT, Octroi, excise duty, sales tax etc. and not income tax. There is no change in income tax and the cesses you pay on the income tax payable. No change in TDS rules also.
