Who wants to get up early on a weekend? Late from the bed is common phenomenon among most of the expats on weekends in Kuwait. Add to this preparing breakfast and lunch is additional tension. How about a change? ‘Breakfast and Brunch’ Restaurant is a perfect solution and a totally different experience. This restaurant outlet called “Breakfast and Brunch” is a small but elegant eatery outlet located near to marina Mall in Salmiya, which caters only Brunch.
Brunch is a meal eaten in the middle of the morning, in between the normal time of breakfast and the normal time of lunch, as a substitute for both of these meals.
When we tried a weekend brunch at this restaurant, it was totally a different experience. The entire European and American breakfast with an exceptionally nutritional value. This restaurant is owned and operated by a young and dynamic Kuwaiti lady Jumana Al Othman. We were told that Jumana Al Othman though from an Elite Kuwaiti Family, used to herself cook and serve the guest in the preliminary days of opening this restaurant. She is a nutritionist and has a clinic of her own. This was the very best reason for her to start this outlet - to give a nutritional food for the people. The restaurant serves refined comfort food and baked items, which are made from their in-house kitchen. The food is prepared only after the order is placed by the customers as such the dishes are fresh, yummy and healthy.
As we entered the Breakfast and Brunch Restaurant we felt very comfortable and homely. We sat down at a table and got the menu which had tons of items on it. It was huge. It had a separate menu for kids. Staff Remesh was very happy to welcome us with cardamom Tea. They offer variety of delicious Sandwiches, omelettes, Baked Eggs etc. Egg is one ingredient that’s present almost in all the dishes. We tried dishes like Bacon, Veggie’s Omelette, Tomato n Herbs backed eggs, Egg Benedicts, turkey sandwiches. Harsh Brown a unique dish of London where in the potatoes are fried but at Breakfast and Brunch Restaurant they serve them baked. All dishes were baked and were not at all spicy. Portions are more than generous; most of the dishes we tried could be easily shared among dinners with less hearty appetites and very economy or reasonable. Each item on the menu cost an average 2:00 KD to 2:500 KD.
Even the brunch won’t be perfect without a sweet ending. They have a variety of deserts which contain blueberries, peanut butter and nutella. We tried the pancakes, baked pancake balls, crepes and French toast. They were stuffed with blueberries and nutella. It was something I have never tasted before.
This brunch experience for an average family will not exceed more than 5 to 8 KD.
Breakfast and Brunch is open from 7:30 AM till 4:00 PM 7 days a week. They are located exactly opposite the open parking on the left side of Marina Mall. Parking will not be an issue in the mornings as parking space is plenty in front of the restaurant. They recommend if coming with kids then before 10 AM and if for brunch then after 12pm. They even have home delivery.
After this wonderful brunch I really felt satisfied, cheerful and felt fresh for the day.
They are planning to come up with Indian Specialities very soon like chapattis etc.
A location near to the Marina Mall makes Breakfast and Brunch Restaurant an ideal place to visit after a stroll to the mall on a lazy weekend.
