Experience the rich taste of Indian cuisine in style at Soul & Spice Restaurant

Indian food is different from rest of the world not only in taste but also in cooking methods. It reflects a perfect blend of various cultures and ages. Foods of India are better known for its spiciness. Throughout India, be it North India or South India, spices are used generously in food. Spices have always been valued for their ability to add flavour, colour and aroma to dishes. The regional cuisines of India rely a great deal on spices. This very important ingredient is incorporated in the cuisines offered at “Soul & Spice” Indian Restaurant, Courtyard By Marriott, Kuwait. This restaurant offers diners a unique and exclusive dining journey with Indian food that is presented in a new modern twist.

“Soul & Spice “Restaurant specialises in a flavourful, rich and vast menu of delectable cuisine from all parts of India. A cuisine that touches your soul.

Soul and Spice is a contemporary Indian restaurant formulated by Celebrity Chef Hari Nayak, where he offers great insight in selecting the menu to his modern culinary experience. The restaurant is managed by renowned chef Raj, who has over 14 years of hands on experience with world cuisines and has always been known to push the boundaries of the culinary world to achieve the best. Raj matches each dish with its own unique style - to bring out the distinct flavours and fragrances of the dish while catering to all dietary requirements - namely gluten free, fat free, low fat etc.

The regal ambience of the restaurant is bound to transport you to a world of imperial charm and the food perfectly complements the experience. The décor of the restaurant is elegant with traditional artefacts and modern paintings with an Indian touch. The Restaurant contemporized with its well-lit space with dark wood finishing chairs and tables. The music is also ambient with soft Hindi songs, very in tune with the feel of the space.

We began our gastronomic expedition with a complimentary appetizer and drink that was served specially to all their guests. It was Chicken Tikka – Boneless chicken pieces marinated with yoghurt and cooked in clay oven and Melon Delight – a combination of watermelon and sweet melon with honey and sugar a perfect start of our culinary journey. We were also served with the usual papadam with Apricot, Beetroot and Green Apple Chutneys, which was a variety experience.

For soup we had a seafood soup which was made of coconut milk and shrimps. It was served in style and was very delicious.

For main course we had Fish Tandoori - Fish cooked in oven (Tandoori style), Vegetable pulao, Murgh Kali mirch - Boneless chicken pieces cooked in freshly cracked pepper infused gravy, and Naan bread. Presentation of each dish was marvellous. All dishes just satisfied our soul.

At the end, we were offered Strawberry shooter- a combination of Strawberry, chat masala and a pinch of hing. This unique drink is best for digestion and it really worked!

After a meal like this it should be persuaded with some desserts. We tried the traditional Punjab special Carrot Halwa. It was very delicious in taste and presentation.

They have an open kitchen and most of the dishes are prepared right in front of your eyes.If a client is on diet then the chief specially prepares dishes for him with less oil.

They have business lunch menu for clients who come for business meetings. With their special business lunch offer for business executives, professionals can enjoy their lunch break or business lunch meetings, which have been designed to fit a time frame of 45 minutes only. This allows guests to unwind, chat, enjoy their meal and have a cup of tea or coffee – all of this while relaxing in the soothing Indian music and tasteful ambience of the Soul and Spice. Soul & Spice’s delicious new business menu includes a wide array of varieties for appetizers, main course and desserts which have been specially designed keeping the working professional in mind. In addition to business lunch menu, they have various set menus, which includes variety of dishes.

At Soul and Spice, you can enjoy your evenings with live Indian Classical music. Musician plays the flute and sitar. They are also arranging live music on harmonium and tabala very soon. You can also request for your favourite songs to be played live while enjoying your soulful culinary experience. The live music starts from 7:30 Pm every day except on Fridays. The Restaurant is open from 12:30 – 3:00 PM for lunch and from 7:00 – 11:00PM for dinner. Since the restaurant offers free valet parking, you don’t have to worry about parking your car.

Overall an amazing and memorable dine in experience at Soul & Spice Restaurant. The 68 seat restaurant is located on the 2nd level of the Courtyard By Marriott Hotel, Sharq, Kuwait city, and is open to visitors for lunch as well as dinner.
