I would like to write my vision about the ‘School of my Dreams’. I will call my school as ‘Dream High School’. My dream school should have a traditional administrative chain, consisting of Principal and Vice Principal. The school building should be having at least five floors and a large play ground. In describing my dream of school I will express my views about the teaching methods, the subject taught, the special days held, the special facilities of the school and the characteristics.
1) Teaching methods:
The teaching methods should be simple and practical to follow the subjects easily. Also it should be more practical oriented rather than theoretical especially in Science and Mathematics as it will help the students to understand and follow the subjects easily. Also each student should give a chance to present his/her ideas in the class which will help the student to develop his communication and presentation skills. Also special classes should be arranged for students those who are weak in any particular subject or subjects.
2) The subjects:
More weight should be given to basic science and mathematics as it is the base for a nation’s overall development. Young students should be motivated to concentrate on Basic science for higher studies. Also ‘craft’ should be included as a subject up to high school level, as it will initiate the creativity in young minds.
Physical Education should be given more weight age in schools. At least 30 minutes should be given to students in a day to spend for sports and physical activities. It is not only good for health also it is good for mental health. Each student should be encouraged to participate at least one item in sports.
3) Special day:
It is nice to celebrate some special days in an academic year, such as ‘sports day’ ‘Arts and cultural day’ ‘Gandhi Jayanthi Day’ (Oct 2nd), Parents and Teachers day etc. Special day is good for us to interact with all other students and share their ideas.
Sport day students can play their favourate items in sports and games and also prove themselves how they are good in that. Also they can learn from that how to keep the sportsman spirit and develop team work.
The parents and teachers day is important for the students as well as good academic functioning of the school. Parents can share their views and ideas related to their children in teaching and other extra curriculum activities.
The Gandhi Jayanthi day (2nd of October) should be celebrated in school which will give motivation in students how to keep our surroundings neat and clean. Cleanliness is most important for a student and he should know how to keep clean ourselves and keep the surroundings clean. By this way we can keep healthy surroundings of our society.
4) The special facilities of the school:
In my dream the school should have good environment for study. I.e. The class rooms should have good ventilation to have natural light, and air circulation. The class rooms should have kept very clean and the study table and chairs should be comfortable and neat. Each floor should have enough toilets for boys and girls and it should be kept clean.
It is most important to have a good play ground to spend the sport hour. The school should provide enough games items to play such as, foot ball, basket ball, Wally ball, cricket bats etc. There should be enough trees around the school to give shadow and good air. A good canteen is mandatory in a school to have snacks and drinks when ever it is required.
A good library is a must in a school. There should be good collection of books to read related to all academic and general knowledge. Reading habit is most important to develop the knowledge not only in the academic level also in the general knowledge wise. Then only students can achieve good score in competitive exams.
5) Characteristics of the school:
My dream school should provide quality education not only in the academic level but also in the character building such as how to become a good person. In summary, real education is that which enables one to utilize the knowledge one has acquires for making happy as many people as possible. Born in society, one has the duty to work for its welfare and progress.
