The Radisson Blu Hotel, has been successfully hosting a painting competition for the kids since 1996. It is for the children ,who are in the age group of 12-18 years. Each year it is conducted with a different theme. This year the theme chosen for the painting competition was WE ARE THE WORLD. The main aim behind this venture is to encourage the children to help the other needy children as the amount collected by this noble event is donated to charity.
The hotel distributes free canvas to the participating schools, which includes both Indian schools and foreign schools in Kuwait. By doing this they are encouraging the students to bring out their artistic skills and increase their imagination and at the same time contribute to a great cause. The Event was held under the patronage of Mrs Mona Hamed Al Loghani, Assisstant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs this year. All the painted canvas were exhibited after the inauguration ceremony. At the exhibition, the artwork was made available for sale also. Each child could purchase his or her own painting at the cost of 5KD each and could thereby contribute to this great cause and the painting of the winners’ were sold at a cost of 20KD respectively and the proceeds thus collected would be sent for the children’s charity in Sweden.
21 Schools and 10 children who were account holders in the Commercial Bank of Kuwait participated in this great event and around 350 paintings were exhibited.
All participating students and winners were honoured in a special ceremony on Saturday, 05 May 2012.The grant event was conducted in the Hashemi Ballroom of Radisson Blu hotel. The hotel also served all the guests with snacks and the exhibition was a treat to the eyes. It was indeed an exposure to our world.
