Ashokan, who was working in a private company in Kuwait, was tangled in the lathe belt of the machine he was working with. He was admitted to the ICU of Al Sabah Hospital for around a month and then moved to the ward. He was thrown off when he got trapped in the lathe belt and moved to Sabah Hospital with wounds all over the body. He now lies there unable to move. He communicates with the feeble sound he is able to make, without actually being able to convey his needs or wants. He presents a very pitiable sight to anyone who visits him. All his daily needs are being cared for by the nurses, whose services are just immeasurable.
Asokan, who has no relatives in Kuwait, sheds a tear of happiness on seeing visitors. Those are the few moments he feels a sense of relief from the loneliness.
He has been working in Al Buaijan & Bedirian Gen. Trad company in Shuwaikh for the last 14 years. Ashokan who hails from Kiliyalloor, Pattathaanam, Kollam District of Kerala has a wife and son who is studying in Std 5 and a daughter of 21 years whose wedding has been fixed. He is the sole bread winner for the family. The accident happened a few months ago after he returned from vacation.
As of now, he is not fit to be repatriated back home. Those who wish to help Asokan may please contact Youth India Help Centre on 99428356, 97214796 |
