Ministry to monitor artificial prices hike

Ministry of Commerce and Industry Undersecretary, Abdul Aziz Al-Khaldi, said he met with the ministry commerce supervisory sector and instructed them to monitor prices and activate article 2 of the supervision law, which prohibits raising prices in an artificial way, reported Kuwait Times daily.

The supervisory sector prepares weekly reports of the surveys they make about prices, and takes the necessary action to ensure the stability of prices for the public. The meeting was held due to the fact the month of Ramadan is approaching. With less than two months remaining, and an expected increase in salaries for government employees, Commerce Minister Anas Al-Saleh instructed the monitoring of prices to prevent price rises by those making use of the occasion of Ramadan and increased salaries.

govt shud be very very alert of the current situation.there is fire in the market in prices just rising to the top.for eg.a thing costs 100 fils in 1 bakala,the bakala next to it has his own price of 150 fils.it feels as if there is nobody over this people to control them.god knows who will control them.

if u compare with other gulf countries to kuwait,there is no constant price here, so first the muncipality patrolling team should do inspection in each area,and find out who is selling more prices ,cancel there licence,this prices affect only expats poor people

The govt should action to monitor the house rents at the first instance.
