The process of school going cum learning is always made more interesting and even more fun when it is accompanied by a field trip. This is just what the Indian Education School management arranged for the class XI and class XII Commerce and Economics students on the 21st of May, 2012, when they paid a visit to the National Bank of Kuwait Headquarters at the Kuwait City.
Everything was planned out and executed in perfection from the decision to take the senior students on a field trip to make their classroom understanding better. The management, alongside a few senior teachers, spoke to the NBK for organizing an educational tour around the bank, for learning its various functions and duties.
The tour began sharp at 9 AM, when the PRO of NBK, Mr. Yackoub Al Baqer welcomed the students and introduced them to two other employees, Zaina and Mayam, who gave a short introduction of the bank and helped the students to explore and learn more about the bank.
The first half hour of the program went with the PRO showing us the safety locker room, in the basement of the building. The students learnt how such a safety locker room is usually maintained, with its highly secured door, metal-protected arena, and most of all, motion sensor cameras present in this small room, housing many a valuable goods.
Along with this exciting experience, the students were taken to a small theatre wherein the lecturers for the day were ready to shootout their various ideas they would be wanting to share with the students. It began with a session of the student account packages that were offered by the bank, which was told to the students by Mrs Mashaal Al Saab, one of their experts in that field.
Following up this session, was a very innovative and thoroughly entertaining session of Middle East Economics, wherein their expert, Mr. Nemer Kanafani giving an idea to the Bhavans students about how the bank’s economic department functions. He spoke about the bank’s economic group, which collects and publishes a lot of data for NBK’s and its customers’ usage.
The final session, the most interesting one of the lot, was being presented forward to the students by Mr. Sami Jabour, the head of their Human Resource department, who spoke to the students about NBK’s International Banking Group, abbreviated to IBG. He mentioned about how it all began, to how huge it has grown until today. The students very well understood what an IBG can actually do for improving the working of a bank by multitudes.
By 11.30 noon, the Bhavanites came out of the NBK, much enriched with their knowledge about banks, having firsthand experience of how all this money making wonder of the world happens and functions. The students were thankful to the management, the teachers, Mr Jayaprakash Menon, the Assistant Manager, Finance department, who helped the school in arranging this program, and the NBK itself for providing them with this splendid opportunity to learn a lot.
