UIS conducts Investiture Ceremony |

The Investiture Ceremony for the office bearers was conducted with solemnity and pride at UIS. The ceremony commenced with the Holy Quran followed by the Kuwait National Anthem .The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. B.K Upadhyaya, the Consul and Welfare Officer of Indian Embassy, Kuwait.
The head girl Nikita D Almeida presented the welcome address while the Head boy Prince Reji invoked the blessings of the Lord with the prayer. The school choir rendered the melodious song, ‘Somewhere in the world’. A thought provoking skit was presented by the students of class XI, conveying the importance of unity in thoughts, words and action. The chief guest took the salute during the March Past of the office bearers. The captains made a grand entry with their respective flags which symbolized the ideals of the school: Peace, Hope, Charity and Joy. Thereafter the Principal, Mrs. Susan Roy, administered the oath of office to the school Captain, Head girl and Head boy. They conducted the oath for the Captains, Vice-Captains and prefects. They were invested with badges. They expressed their determination to forge ahead against all odds in life by rendering an enthralling song ‘I can’ In keeping with the tradition of UIS, the principal announced the prestigious Nalanda Scholarship for Excellence in Academics for class XII for the year 2011-2012. The recipients received the awards from the Chief Guest.
The Chief Guest addressed the audience and enlightened the school fraternity with his valuable words of wisdom, stressing the importance of seeking knowledge, which is the basis of life.
The School Captain, Martin Varghese Paul delivered the vote of thanks .The event concluded with the Indian National Anthem, which was rendered with reverence by everyone present there. |
