Youths have always been at the Centre of action in history of most profound changes and path breaking revolutions. Youth India is a non-profit, socio-cultural organization committed to promote communal harmony and universal brotherhood among expatriate living in Kuwait. They serve as a Platform for People who are in need of service from the community for the social, economic and employment needs and re- empowerment. Youth India was launched 2 years back, with the aim of engaging the youth and tap their power for the betterment of the society. If not tapped, they lay unused and drift into anti-social evils like alcohols or immoral activities. Anyone who associates with Youth India gets an opportunity to develop his skills and all facets of his personality and the inner satisfaction gained by being of help to another human being.
Their mission is to develop the youth into healthy, hardworking, broad minded, intelligent, compassionate citizens who rise above the narrow considerations of caste, creed, community, religion, region or language and help build a strong nation, a peaceful and prosperous world.
They have various departments working under Youth India like Organization and Human development, Youth India Helpline and Social service Wing, Social Wing, Career Wing, Arts wing, Sports wing, Website and technology and Social club.
As an organization working among the expatriate Indians, they have prioritized social service activity as their major domain of interest and scope of work. The help centre will be available for all Indian society to assist them on their issues related to sponsor, medical issues , legal advices, financial supports, embassy related advices and guidance etc. Youth India help Centre have been serving the community last one year as a care point for the needy to talk with their sponsor and settling the issues, giving the legal advices, extending the financial support, issuing the tickets for needed, guiding them to embassy as needed, taking up the major medical cases and rising the fund to serve them etc.
Some of the highlights of support Youth India extended to the community during the last period are : Free Medical camps @ Labour camps, Somalia famine support worth KD 5000, Two help centres during amnesty declared by Kuwait Government, 24/7 Help centres to assist the Indian community, Support detainees to repatriate to their home country, Providing legal support, Handling Housemaid issues with sponsors, Drinking water projects in villages in India, Taking up the serious medical cases of community and fund raising to support them and their family, Extend the support to the needy in India through project like school kits in rural villages and Working with Kuwait NGO to assist fellow community members to avail financial support for their genuine needs.
Youth India conduct various events like expatriate arts fest named ‘Pravasi Kalolsvam’ showcasing the talents of expatriate Keralites. Conducted four day workshop for teens named ‘Talenteen’ aiming at the complete development of teens in Kuwait. Various sessions in the program includes career guidance, personality development, moral teachings, games, group discussion and project works. Under the umbrella of Youth India Career wing Youth India conducted career guidance and development program named ‘Career Focus’. The program was attended by people from various professions. Mr Asim Khan, HR Director, Alshamel International, conducted a presentation on ‘Job Hunting in Kuwait’ and gave the audience a brief overview of the peculiarities of the Kuwait job market and job hunting techniques in general.
Other Notable events Open Debates and talk-shows on various socio-political-cultural issues, English and Arabic language learning course, Career Development programs, Job assistance and Employment Cell, Leadership Camp, Youth Leader ship programs, Inter Club Football Tournaments, Inter Club Cricket Tournaments, Swimming Competition, Magazines, Documentary, Youth Conferences and Social clubs in labour camps.
Funds for the organizational activities are raised solely from the monthly contribution of the members, who pay a fixed percentage of their income. Funds for public programs are raised either through a nominal registration fee, or through sponsorships and advertisements. Funds for the social relief activities are raised from the general public, through news in newspapers and IndiansinKuwait.com and other websites. The funds are transferred to the beneficiaries through their relatives/friends. And in case, the beneficiary is repatriated, thru a joint account in a bank. The details of the handover are periodically published in leading newspapers and websites, with supporting photographs. Close co-ordination with the beneficiary is maintained till the funds are completely utilized. And if needed further funds are raised for continual treatment, if required.
Their upcoming projects are A Legal Cell, to help the needy in Kuwait. This will be a project which will actively intervene in the cases of our brethren, who are in need.
Youth India has 25 units all over Kuwait, with an average of around 10 persons per branch.
The organization is led by an executive committee of 19 members at the central level, inclusive of the office bearers. Current office bearers of Youth India are Arshad E (President) and Muhammed Shafi PT (General Secretary)
