8327 traffic citations issued over the weekend

The traffic department reports that 8327 traffic citations had been filed and 357 vehicles detained over the weekend, reported local daily. The sources were more specific about the locations of the citations, saying that 1324 tickets had been filed and 9 vehicles detained in the capital governorate, 930 tickets and 30 vehicles detained in Farwaniya, 2743 tickets were filed and 100 vehicles detained in Hawalli, 1243 tickets were filed and 4 vehicles detained in Ahmadi, 461 tickets were filed and 12 vehicles detained in Mubarak Al-Kabeer and 930 tickets were filed and 70 vehicles were detained in Jahra.

It would be much better to solve and plan to over come traffic jams on 30 and 40 etc. during rush hours than issuing thousands of so called violation tickets to expats and ladies only. How it could be a law to remove 80's model vehicles from road, its worth taking rights of poor people. Instead of making new road plans to reduce traffic they are busy in removing vehicles from the road...ha ha ha

I agree with Ahmed. The traffic police are busy targeting the expats and penalising them for no fault whatsoever. I guess they are just wanting to meet their targets. I fell prey to such an incident a few weeks ago and paying the due was such a pain. There's no point in expecting them to do their duty righteously.

The peoples who are not committed any violation are forcily booking as violations know a days. I am among this one. it seems the Traffic police is busy in making figuares intead of traffic management.
