Kerala Expats Football Association Kuwait (KEFAK) organized a prestigious 7-A side knock out football tournament for Grand Hyper market rolling trophy. Sixteen Keralite teams registered in KEFAK contested in the tournament. Soccer Kerala (B) crowned champions. Tournament was massively colorful with the presence of large crowd with families in the Friday evening and food court set up by organizers offered wide array traditional foods to spectators.
In the glittering classico final, Soccer Kerala defeated Kerala Challengers. It’s scoreless in the most absorbing match of the tournament at full time and both teams drew in penalties as well. Winners were decided by Toss. Soccer Kerala (B) crush MAK Kuwait in the semi final by 1-0 and Kerala challengers defeated Soccer Kerala (A) in penalty shoot out after having a scoreless full time. Prestigious Grand Hyper rolling trophy was presented to winners Soccer Kerala by Mr. Ayyoob Kachery – Director Grand Hyper- and Runners up trophy was presented by Mr.O.K Abdul Razak – Treasurer KEFAK- to Kerala Challengers. Individual performer’s trophies were presented by Mr.Safarulla – Sports Secretary KEFAK. Memento to chief guest Mr.Ayyoob Kachery was presented by Mr.C.O John – V.President KEFAK.
Man of the match in the final was won by Santhosh Balagopal and best of player of tournament trophy was won by Eshfaq, both are from soccer Kerala. Best custodian trophy was won by Noushad from MAK Kuwait. Best defender trophy was won by Gineesh and Top scorer trophy was won by Fajlu – both are from Kerala challengers. K.K.S Surra was voted best disciplined team of the tournament.
Matches were officiated by IFRA officials. KEFAK J.Secretary Mr.Pradeep Kumar and Volunteers incharge Mr.Shahul and Asst.Treasurer Mr.Mansoor also controlled various departments. Officials incharge Mr.Mubarak Yusuf compered the function. |
