Traffic department issues brochure; 3 month jail for over speeding
Posted on 7/25/2012
In an effort to ensure the security and safety of road users, Security media department at the Ministry of Interior prepared brochures that contain traffic laws on speeding.

The brochure indicates that the maximum penalty for speeding is three month imprisonment and KD 100 fine, adding that the traffic offense will record four points for the violator. The officer also has the right to evoke speeding driver's license or seize the vehicle.

In case of conflicts, the motorist will be fined KD 20 if he exceeds 20 km/hr above the speed limit and KD 50 for exceeding 40 km/hr above the speed limit.

You are wrong, if you think it’s only the locals who are crazy on the road. Either you are delusional or just pissed because of your financial status and blaming locals.. I am an Indian and I see many Indians driving like nuts. they come here and have no respect for laws and yes it’s true the locals are no better but to say it’s only them is just wrong sure Expats usually don't speed but not all accidents are about speeding... I have been here just a year and OMG people are just tools when it comes to driving specially expats.. All bus drivers all taxi drivers all commercial vehicles u think Kuwaitis are driving them…. Take a small number of sports car and start blaming them for all the mess is not our culture. Start with our action and then blame others

Please this time to extort money from expat is useless because eveything for RAMADAN basic items ,House rent are expensive and all are become bankcrupt..So instead of "EXHORTING" better start "EXCEUTION" hang all the expats.. This will reduce the illegal or legal expats in kuwait..and will solve visa piracy..
Sir, Till today I never seen on road any expat overspeeding or over acting stunts or jumping any RED signals..Please correct me ...

The important thing is proper execution of the rules/laws, not in making it.

Is the same rule applicable for Kuwaitis since most of the traffic rules violators are the Kuwaitis. Rules in this country is a big joke only applicable for expats.

I agree with Ravi. They should make strict rules, not that giving the rights to Police to impound or charge only expats vehicles. I was amazed to see after impounding so many vehicles still there are thousands of old vehicles which are driven by arabs. What partiality is this ?
