A small group from the Indian Dentists' Alliance of Kuwait headed by the President, Dr. John. J. Manappallil met with His Excellency, Mr. Satish Mehta, Ambassador of India, at his office in the Indian Embassy. H.E. congratulated the new team while conveying his whole hearted support to various IDAK initiatives. Further, he hailed the MOU in the medical field between India and Kuwait as an important milestone in relations between the two countries and said that cooperation was ongoing in this regard.
His Excellency was briefed on the high standards of Indian Dentistry both in Kuwait and in India, including the fact that India was now contributing significantly to international scientific literature. A copy of the amended constitution passed by the IDAK General Body in March 2012 was handed over to His Excellency by the Joint Secretary, Dr. Jijan Sam Thomas. The General Secretary, Dr. Anil George briefed him on the various past activities as well as upcoming programs, including planned publications of IDAK. He extolled the new committee to continue to conduct the free dental consultation camps which would be of benefit to the society, especially the lesser privileged members of the Indian community.
The various issues of concern to the Indian dentists working in Kuwait were discussed at the meeting and H.E. assured the Indian Dentists that all necessary steps would be taken to address these issues. A floral bouquet and a dental reference book authored by the President were presented to the ambassador on behalf of IDAK. On parting, the continued patronage, advice and support for all IDAK activities was requested of the H.E. The new committee promised to strive hard to further enhance and strengthen Indo-Kuwait relations. |
