Thiruvananthapuram District Expatriates Association (TEXAS) Kuwait a Non-resident, Non-Profit, socio-cultural Indian Association in Kuwait hosted a warm Iftar Sangamam 2012 on Sunday, 29th of July at Indian Community School Salmiya.
TEXAS President Edava Nasar presided over the meet in which His Grace Most Rev.Dr.Soosa Pakiam. Metropolitan Archbishop-Thiruvananthapuram, was the chief guest. Prominent personalities including Sri.Faisal Manjeri ,Texas Advisory Board Members ,Sri.M.A.Hilal ,Sri.Dr.C.G Suresh ,Sri.Vijaya Kumar ,KMCC President Sri.C.A .Joy ,(Vice Chairman, Indian Community School) Sri. Rajan Daniel, (Yousef Gazal General Trading Company )General Manager Sri.Yousef Ghazal were attended the Iftar Sangamam.
The meeting start with recitation of Holy Quran by Hashim Abdul Hakkim .
Texas general secretary Biju Stefan welcomed the audience and Sri .Faisal Manjeri gave the Ramadan Message. Faisal Manjeri spoke on the subject‘The Goal of a True believer’. It is the responsibility of the true believers to live as exemplary role models and also impart the same values in our fellow beings, he said. We become the exemplary community which Quran teaches, when we profess what is good and right and to object to anything that is bad or evil and provide a helping hand to our fellow beings and make ease for them as taught by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). expressed the Iftar massage .
His Grace Most Rev.Dr.Soosa Pakiam. Metropolitan Archbishop-Thiruvananthapuram He delivered his sincerest greetings to all brothers and sisters who have spread all over the world and humbly welcomed the Holy Month of Ramadan. He added that this season of fasting, prayers, and self-sacrifice bring us closer and give us more patience and strength of mind as we continue to face the challenges brought about by the changing of times.
Sri.Yousef Ghazal recite ayah of Holy Quran and gave the Ramadan Message in Arabic and it was translate by his brother Sri.Mahir Ghazal to the gathering ‘Repent and return to God’. All deeds of man, whether good or bad will be brought before God and tried upon, we should live our life with this in our mind and however sinful our lives have been, god is always forgiving and we need to utilize this Ramadan for his forgiveness, he said.
Sri. Rajan Daniel in his felicitation speech said that Let us all join hands in praising and giving thanks to Allah (S.W.T) for the progress that our beloved second home Kuwait is enjoying and for all the benefits it has brought upon all of us. May the spirit of Ramadan illuminate our path and show us the way to peace, he added.
