Two Indian nationals Sayyed Abdurahiman Rashid (Rashid Thangal) from Malappuram district and Shargadharan from Kozhikode district, both from Kerala state, India were shot dead by unknown assailants near Sulaibiya yesterday night. Both were working for Badar Al Mulla Security Company. It’s reported that both were returning back from vegetable market in Sulaibiya with cash as part of their duty.

The incident happened around 10:30 pm on Friday. Assailants shot at them while they were coming to the van with the collection money. It’s reported that Shaargadharan died on the spot and Rashid died at Farwaniya hospital. According to reports, goons also took away around 13,000 Kuwait Dinar from them. The suspects did not attempt to break into the armored security van which reportedly contained about KD2,00,000 in cash and the driver of the van, who was inside the van at the time of the incident was unharmed.

A case has been registered in Sulaibiya police station and the case has been transferred to public prosecutor, Jahra Court. Indian Embassy officials on Saturday visited police station and mortuary and are following up with the case.
