India- The Past, Present and The Future

India has achieved a lot over the past decades. It has always been flavored with history and architecture from many countries. The architectural domes and minarets of Persia can be seen in many parts and places of the country. The country has well cherished each moment of its freedom and independence. It has achieved many goals in many different fields like astronomy, Infosys, IT, medical care, the Olympics ETC. The brave hearts of British India fought for her independence deliberately even risking their lives and laid down their lives on the altar of freedom. As I begin to explain more on India –the past, the present and future, I would like to begin by paying my respects to these warriors of India. India is unique in every way all the day!

Scientific and Technological Developments in India

India has lived up to Nehru’s dreams.

“And I hope with ………that in the days to come, India will again become the home of science, not only as a form of intellectual activity, but also as a means of furthering the progress of her people” - Jawaharlal Nehru, 26 December 1937.

The Indian economy has a strong element of duality. It is one of the most industrialized countries in the world, with remarkable achievements in indigenous technology, oceanography, deep-sea oil drilling, nuclear power, space and satellite communications and armaments manufacture. It is also a successful agricultural country. Three-quarters of the population owe their livelihoods to the sector, which coupled with fisheries and mining, account for about one-third of gross domestic product (GDP).

India has also made a lot of scientific advances. Studies in scientific astronomy in India are kwon to date back at least to the 5th century astronomer-mathematician Aryabhatta after whom the first Indian satellite is named after. Following Aryabhatta, there were a host of astronomers over the succeeding centuries and whose works also reveal contacts with the astronomical works of the Greeks and the Arabs. For example, the astrological work of Varahamihira (c.505 AD) contains the names of Greek Zodiacal signs an planets for the first time. In conclusion, it can be said that in many ways which ground work has been done and new facilities are being set up and new opportunities are emerging for the future. All this augurs well for a bright future for basic space science in India.

India is also becoming the field of many talented athletes and sports personnel from all over the country and has won 6 medals in the most recent Summer Olympics conducted in London, UK in the year 2012.

India has also developed in the agricultural factor. The use of HYV seeds, chemical fertilizers and pesticides has improved the yield a lot. India has now become the paradise of every one of its farmers.

The educational system, the governing system all have seen considerable achievement and improvement after India got her independence from the British.

In short, I would like to say that I am happy to be a citizen to and honorable Nation as all of us are. India! Look up for the stars!!

With A Content Heart I’m Only Too Happy to Wish India A Very Happy 67th Independence Day!!!!!

Jaihind!
