One of 3,000 new-born babies in Kuwait are affected by a genetic malfunction in the thyroid, while 5 percent of Kuwaitis and residents suffer from thyroid problems, Al- Seyassah daily reported quoting Chairman of Kuwait Association of Endocrinology Dr Zaidan Al-Mizyadi.
He also said Kuwait records 35 new cases of type one diabetes are discovered every year among 100,000 children who are under the age of 14.
