Konni Nivasi Sangamam celebrated its 9th Onam Celebration (Sravanolsav-2014) on Friday 24th October 2014 at United Indian School Auditorium, Abbassiya. The program started with “Ghoshayathra” arrival of the Mahabali, Chendamelam, Pulikkali, Thalappoli was accompanied by the guests. The meeting was started with Prayer song sung by Ms.Jini S.Saji. President Mr. K.K Ramachandran chaired public meeting and Rev. Fr. C V Simon, (Vicar, St. Johns Marthoma church) inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Rev. Fr. Shaji P Joshua, (Vicar, St. Basil Indain Orthodox church) Adv. M Liju (KPCC General Secretary), Varghese Puthukulangara (Norka Member), Babuji bathery (Core member, Thanima) felicitated the occasion and Mr. Raju Varghese delivered the Patron’s message.

Mr. Mathai Varghese (General Secretary) delivered the welcomed audience and Mr. Shaji George (Program convener) delivered vote of thanks. Various socio and cultural Association Representatives like KALA, Kuwait, Pathanamthitta Association, Ranni Association, Vanitha Vedi, KMRM and Kollam Jilla Pravasi association were presented. After the public meeting variety of traditional cultural programs including Thiruvathira, Classical dances, Bharatanatyam were performed. The special attraction of the event was the Ganamela lead by Idea Star Singer fame Mrs. Preeti Warrier & Team. Also Payasam Competition was held as part of the onam celebration among the members.

The entire program was well compared by Mrs. Asha Abraham and Mrs. Sneha Suraj, members of Konni Nivasi Sangamam. Delicious “OnaSadhya” was served to all attendees in traditional way and style.
