Kenneth Rodrigues & Adv. Sayid Nizar to attend IKFS Seminar on Anti-Ragging

Kenneth Rodrigues, The Principal of Indian Public School, Salmiya and Attorney Sayid Mohamed Nizar will be the Chief Guests in the Seminar discussing very important topic on “College Ragging and Potential loss to Parents” by Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society, a non-profit. Non-religious, non-political, socio-cultural friendship NRI Association, in Kuwait (whose Chief Patron is Former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Rajindar Sachar – Head of Sachar Committee).

The seminar will be held on Friday Oct 31, 2014 4:30 p.m. at IKFS Training Institute located at Amman Street, (Opposite to Al-Rashid Hospital) Salmiya.

“Ragging is now defined “ as A loss of self- control in search of fun is the initiator of ragging. Ragging is a serious violation of human rights or as an act that violates or is perceived to violate an individual student's dignity”. As per the historical evidence that the ragging was the one of the notorious contributions of British when they invaded and ruled India for years. The physiological affect and resentments prevailing in the college and among parents of the deceased children are also having future personal dis-orders while they continue their kinds studies in the same college . It has been noticed that for several years, Indian colleges and their managements are not strict to their students’ well-beings. Instead, they allow “ragging and campus frustration” among new coming students.

During the seminar IKFS panel of team will discuss and identify the Notorious Colleges in India where the worst suicides occurred due to Ragging. IKFS will ask again in a separate memorandum to address the issue with Union Minister of Education that to compulsory put it on their prospectus that students found guilty of ragging would be criminalized for life and expelled subject to capital punishment.

IKFS, is the first Indian Association in Kuwait conducts such a seminar on “Anti-Ragging in colleges”.

NRI parents are much concerned and worried to send their sons and daughters to Indian colleges. There are thousands of parents have no idea their children are ragged by senior students in the same college. Therefore, IKFS thinks that its necessary to segregate the notorious colleges whose managements are less concerned on ragging.

IKFS earlier conducted seminars and conventions on different topics such as “Issues and problems in NRI Marriages”, Indian Economic seminar, etc… Mrs. Shahjahan Jaffery and Engineer Sayid Fadal, the IKFS Executive members will coordinate the Seminar.
