Hawalli detectives recently launched several inspection campaigns at check points and issued 166 traffic citations. 160 people were arrested for not carrying any IDs; 14 illegals and 17 absconders were also detained; 7 drug peddlers and four drunkards were also apprehended. Security sources said that 3 vehicles were also confiscated and 26 people were referred to the deportation department.
