My Day with a Grandma

My Day with a Grandma

Today me and my class went to visit a grandma. Her name is Ms. Sudha. She is 61 years old. We asked her questions about many things like her education, childhood, food and her favourite things. But the part that the whole class liked the most was when she was talking about her childhood. It was very interesting. We learned that grandparents go through a lot in life. We also learned that we should have time to spend with our grandparents. Since some of them are far away we should keep in contact by other means of communication. The last thing we learned was to respect our elders, not only grandparents, but teachers and parents too.

After we finished our interview, she gave us all many things to eat along with chocolate cake and mango juice. She was very kind to us, and allowed us to look around the house, and we saw many pictures of her family. She likes parrots and has seven of them. She also has a swimming pool beside the room with the parrots. But even after seeing all that, I still think the most interesting thing there was the interview. Learning something new and listening and asking about what happened in someone’s life, especially if that person has gone through a lot in life like Ms. Sudha is pretty fun, right? Whatever it is what was important wasn’t the chocolate cake, the parrots or the large swimming pool. What was important was that we should learn not to just leave our grandparents out of activities or to just not talk to them. Grandparents are human beings too, and that also people of your family. Have fun with them. Include them in some small activities. They may not be able to keep up, but have some patience. And I think this is one of the most important lessons you have to learn in your family.
