American Society of Safety Engineers conducted seminar on "How to Build Effective Contract Specific HSE Plan"

American Society of Safety Engineers, Kuwait Chapter conducted a training seminar on "How to Build Effective Contract Specific HSE Plan" on 15th May 2015 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Kohinoor Banquet Hall, Fahaheel. The trainer for the session was Mr. Sanjay Jaiswal. Around 25 members attended and got benefited from this program.

Mr. Mohammad Yousuff, Training committee member of ASSE Kuwait chapter welcomed the participants. He briefed about the significance of the training seminar and the importance of conducting such seminars for the benefit of ASSE members and introduced the trainer. Mr. Sanjay Jaiswal.

Mr. Sanjay Jaiswal, is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, USA and holds B.E.in Fire Engineering from Nagpur University India. He is a member of ASSE Kuwait Chapter and the present Head of the Training Committee of the Chapter. Mr. Sanjay Jaiswal is presently working in Kuwait Oil Company as Safety Specialist. He has more than 25 years’ experience in downstream and midstream Oil & Gas industry. His specific skill areas include but not limited to the development and implementation of HSE Management System, Training, Auditing & Inspections, Risk Assessment & Loss prevention, Accident investigations, Process Safety Management and Contractor HSE management.

The training seminar was very well conducted by the trainer and effectively communicated citing relevant industrial scenarios and case studies. He elaborated the need for developing a Project Specific HSE Plan for the contract, its requirements at different stages of the project, approach to develop the HSE Plan and its elements, ability to identify hazards associated with the project activities and carry out Risk assessment. He further described the method to generate mitigated measures to lower the risk level with compliance to required Safety Procedures / Programs/ training and skill requirements. Defining the roles and responsibilities of individuals associated with project and ability to identify the requirements and implementing the safe work practices through simple power point presentation and videos and sample HSE plans.

The program was very much beneficial to all the members particularly to the junior safety Officers and Engineers. The participants were very much happy and given feedback to conduct more such useful trainings from ASSE Kuwait chapter for the benefit of its members.

Mr. Yusuff thanked Mr. Sanjay Jaiswal for this initiative. The session concluded with the distribution of Participation Certificates to the participants. Delicious lunch Sponsored by ASSE – Kuwait Chapter served at the end of the session.
