Callous approach of universities delays certificate verification of Indian expats in Kuwait

IIK Staff Reporter Monday, August 3, 2015

The delay experienced by large number of Indian expatriates in Kuwait for getting their educational certificates verified by the Kuwaiti authorities is not from the Kuwaiti side and instead the delay is caused by the various universities in India, informed Kuwait Ambassador to India HE Sami Al Sulaiman. In his letter to HE Sunil Jain, the Kuwait Ambassador in Delhi informed that the Kuwait Embassy sends large number of certificates every week to various universities and institutions all over India for verification process. However getting reply from these universities is a cumbersome process and many times these universities don’t respond with proper information. This often causes the delay in verification of educational certificates by the Kuwait Ministry.

Large number of Indian expatriates in Kuwait, especially those who are getting job opportunities in various ministries here facing the delay in verification of their educational certificates by Kuwait Government.

Earlier Indian Ambassador to Kuwait HE Sunil Jain had brought this issue of delay in certificate verification process to Kuwait Ambassador to India HE Sami Al Sulaiman. Indian Embassy in Kuwait used to get large number of complaints from Indian communities regarding the delay in verification process of their Indian Educational certificates. The certificates usually forwarded to Kuwait Embassy in Delhi by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kuwait. Often a delay of 5 to 6 months in getting the certificate verification affects the promotion prospects and job opportunities of Indian nationals in Kuwait.
