Kokan Welfare Society (KWS) recently hosted a community funfair in Kuwait on 15th April. It was a full day event wherein the community participated and enjoyed the day.

The program started with verses from the holy Quran Surah Rahmaan by Hafiz Muneeb.

The Vice president Mufti Hamza welcomed the guests. Breakfast was served with ethnic Kokani cuisine like Puran Poli, Sugri, Alni paani, Ghawno, Pelwe, Lagdaa, Misal Pav, Sandan Mutton Curry, Pudding etc.

Then there were Kids activities and competitions in Quran recitation, Azan competition, Quiz, drawings, paintings and many indoor sports in which the children participated and won prizes.

Mufti Hamzaa gave a bayan on tarbiyat of children with Islamic values and thereafter Friday prayers.

The afternoon session started after the Jumma prayers and the president of KWS Dr. AbdulRazak Rumane welcomed the entire guest. The Kokan Directory 2016 was released by A.K Shrivastav who on behalf of the Indian Ambassador was the chief guest for the day. Thereafter the Lunch was served with many traditional items like Sandan with Mutton Curry, Fish curry, Pulav, Methi Khichdi, Chawal ki Roti, Sukat, Akhni Maas, Bombil Chutney, Chicken/ Mutton/ Fish Biryani, Deyghi cha Maas etc. Around visitors feasted and visited their ethnic traditions and culture.

After the Lunch, prizes were distributed to all the participants of the Annual Islamic competitions held a week earlier. The Best food stalls were also awarded prizes.

Kokan Welfare society (KWS)thanked the sponsors who whole heartedly supported the event. The volunteers were thanked and appreciated for their community services.

The master of ceremony Mr. AbdulRauf Banderkar and Mr. Ashraf Hajwane did an excellent job and briefed the audience with the activities of Kokan Welfare Society(KWS) in community services.

Yacoub Solkar proposed the vote of Thanks and the program ending with dua by Maulana Nisar Daroge.
