Indian Embassy held curtain raiser event for International Day of Yoga

Indian Embassy in Kuwait in association with community organisation Seva Darshan, Artistic Yoga and Amma Kuwait organised a curtain raiser event for International Day of Yoga at Embassy.

Large number of volunteers from Seva Darshan held a demonstration of various yoga postures at the Embassy which was witnessed by large crowd. The Senior members of Seva Darshan performed various asanas in style while the children from Bala Darshan performed 'Surya Namaskar'. Dr. Roopesh Seva Darshan coordinator explained the benefits of each yoga postures to the Audience. The volunteers from Artistic Yoga also demonstrated various Yoga styles. Amma Kuwait volunteers spoke about the various activities they are carried out in Kuwait.

This event is the final rehearsal in the run up to the International Yoga day to be held on the Friday, 24th of June 2016 at the Indian Embassy premises.

June 21 was declared the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations General Assembly on Dec 11, 2014 after a call by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he addressed the UN General Assembly on Sept 27, 2014. The call had the support of 177 countries, including the State of Kuwait.
