Unmatched Sports Achievements by ICSK Students

The students of the Indian Community School Kuwait have brought glory to the school by winning several prizes in various events of the CBSE Kuwait Cluster Sports 2016-17.

TABLE TENNIS

In the U-19 Table tennis girls’ event, the ICSK team bagged the Championship trophy. The event was conducted on 14th and 15th May, 2016 at the Indian Educational School. The winning team comprised Akila P. Krishnan(class XII), Mariam Paul(Class XI), Sarah Johnson(Class XI) and Umaima Bawaji(Class XI).

The U-11 girls were runners up in the table tennis tournament. The team comprised Hannah Kurian(Class V), Emma Kurian(Class V), Riya Theresa Rajan(Class V) and Eshita Srivastava.

The U-14 boys were runners up in the table tennis tournament that was conducted on 20th and 21st April, 2016 at the Indian Central School. The team members were Sarthak Jogiani(Class VII), Aaryan Rajeev(Class VII), Rishi Anoop(Class VII) and Raghav(class VI).

BADMINTON

The Kuwait Cluster badminton tournament for boys was held on 11th and 12th May, 2016. The Indian Community School Kuwait was the host for the event. The U-14 boys won the championship in the category. The winning team members were Adnan Jeff(Class VII), Aiden Anish Mathew(Class VI), Delwin Menezes(Class VIII), Abhishek Daniel Joseph(Class VIII).

CHESS

In the Chess tournament, U-11 girls’ won the trophy. The tournament was held on 27th and 28th April at the Indian English Academy School. The team comprised Arshiya Anand(Class VII), Ruth Gladwin(Class VI), Sakina Taha(Class V) and Aaliya Kadiri( Class IV).

Also, in chess tournament U-19 category , Sneha Ashok(class XII), Haritha Gnanasegar(class XII), Aleeta(Class X) and Pranothi Prasanth(Class IX) were the winners.

The Chess boys’ tournament was held on 23rd, 24th and 25th April, 2016 at India Integrated School(Jaleeb). The U-11 team was the runners up in this tournament. The team members were Smit Kubal(Class IV), Vaishakh Rajeev(Class IV), Ashwil Biju(Class V) and Bryan Thomas(Class V).

SWIMMING

In the U-14 boys’ Swimming competition that was held on 27th and 28th April, 2016, Jai Ajith Barot(Class VI) stood 3rd in the 50m Freestyle event and Adil Roshan Anwar(Class VI) also came 3rd in the 100m backstroke event.

In the same competition, U-17 boys category, Shabbir Murtaza(class XI) won the bronze medal in the 50m Freestyle event, Arjeet Singh Rekhi(class XI) secured the silver medal in 4X100m freestyle. Anson Pereira(class XI) won silver medal in 4X100m freestyle and bronze in 100m backstroke. Ebrahim Kaeed(class XI), Nilay Thummar(class XI), Roshan K. Thomas(class XI) and Tariq Ahmed(class XI) won the silver medal in 4X100m freestyle relay.

The U-17 girls’ swimming competition was held on 30th April and 1st May, 2016. Pranothi Prasanth(Class IX) stood 3rd in the 100m backstroke event.

VOLLEYBALL

In the 18th CBSE Kuwait Cluster Volleyball Tournament that was hosted by Carmel School Kuwait and was held on 7th and 8th May, 2016, the U-19 boys’ team was the runner up. The team comprised Ryan Johnson(Class XII), Nooh Faisal(Class XII), Jeffin Manoj(Class XII), Kevin Sajan(Class XII), Stepen Roshan(Class XII), Manjot Singh(Class XII), Rusener Josemario(Class XII), Taha Juzer(Class XII), David Thomas(Class XI), Kevin Tom(Class XI), Ali Hussain(Class XI) and Cristy Sajan(class VIII.
