MEW New tariffs from start of next fiscal year

The Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) said the new tariffs will go into effect at the start of the fiscal year 2017/2018, as MEW Undersecretary Mohammad Bushehri wanted the new tariffs by April 1, 2017. The new tariff is 25 fils per kilowatt and KD 4 per 1,000 gallons of water.

price hike will abosrbed with grunts and whining. Indians will re-adjust thier lifestyles, many border line income earners would pack off thier family back to India. Kuwait most likely would turn into bachelorland, with many bachelors stuffing themselves in one apartment in the futuristic modern labor camps and bathing less to save money.

25 fils per KWH is about Rs. 5.5 per KWH. This is more than the price we pay in India.

It will be very expensive. Electricity charges are 8 times more and water per litre will cost 1 fil. So the monthly water bill will be atleast KD8/ by using 250 litre water every day. Bure din aane waale hein.

Start by April 2017 & by the begining of summer holidays June 2017 you will see mass number of flats vacating , people moving back to home country.
