NORKA warns of fake nurse’s recruitment to Kuwait by Bangalore agency

IIK Staff Reporter Sunday, September 25, 2016

India's government recruitment agency has warned jobseekers to beware of fake recruitment agencies. The warning was issued by Non Resident Keralites Affairs, a department of the Kerala government.

The warning comes in the wake of reports that a Bengaluru-based private firm is recruiting nurses for a Kuwait oil company by charging hefty sums, a release said.

NoRKA has received a demand for recruiting 50 nurses for a Kuwait oil company via the Central government’s e-migrate system. “Don’t waste your money or give documents (Passports/Certificates) to any private agency for getting recruited through NORKA. NORKA do not authorise any middlemen to contact job seekers in any means or collect money for their selection,” the agency has said in a notice.

"Only the Indian government approved service charge, maximum INR 20,000, will be applicable to the selected candidates and has to be remitted only in the form of demand draft taken in favor of CEO NORKA ROOTS,” the notice says.

Due to the large scale corruption on recruitment of Nurses to Kuwait, since 2015, recruitment of nurses from India has been conducted through E-migrate system. The Indian government has put in place tight controls to streamline recruitment of workers, especially nurses, abroad. NORKA Roots in Kerala, Overseas Development and Employment Promotion Consultants in Kerala, Overseas Manpower Corporation Ltd in Chennai, Uttar Pradesh Financial Corporation and Telangana Overseas Manpower Company are the official body authorized to engage in recruitment of Indian nurses for employment abroad.

Very good move NORKA by warning people to get rid from the fake recruitment.

By the way, I have one question that why NORKA did not open the mouth when Uthuppu and his gang did the same recruitment in return of large amount ?

NORKA should have an associated official in every Embassy if they are serious about nurse recruitment or to help the pravasies, or is it just another govt agency ?

As supply is more than demand this would continue till the salary is better in Kuwait.
