Winners rejoice at IIK Diwali Mela 2016

Loads of surprise prizes and gift hampers made the winners to rejoice their efforts at IIK Diwali Mela 2016. Winners of various competitions like Rangoli competition, Diwali Mithai Contest , Diwali Namkeen Contest, Painting Competition, Fancy dress for kids , Dandya Dance Competition and Inter School Lantern Competitions received their prizes at the IIK Diwali Mela on Friday, 21th October 2016.

Mrs Ashwini & Team bagged the First prize in the colorful Rangoli Competition sponsored by Al Muzaini Exchange Company. Theme of Rangoli Competition was Swacch Bharath. Mrs Archana Puranik & Team got the second prize and Mrs Babita Patil & Team got the third prize. Winners received trophies from IIK and gift vouchers from the officals of Al Muzaini Exchange Company.

Mrs Sana Abdul Hameed Nakhwa got the first prize where as Mrs Jesny Shameer got the second prize in the delicious and creative Diwali Mithais competition at the ‘Holiday Inn - Jamawar Indian Restaurant Mithai Competition’. Geetha Arumugam Suresh got the first prize where as Shoba R Patil got the second prize in the delicious and creative Diwali Namkeens competition at the ‘Holiday Inn - Jamawar Indian Restaurant Namkeen Competition’. Holiday Inn - Jamawar Indian Restaurant officials handed over the prizes to the winners.

Colorful and attractive Diwali Lanterns made by the students of various Indian schools were exhibited at the Mela. IIK had held an Inter School Lantern Competition and the winners were felicitated at the Mela. Kaashvi Subin, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan got the First Prize, Mannan of Carmel School got second prize and Kushi Kumar , Mayur Aly Sharaf & Sanya Fernandes of IEAS Don Bosco got third prize. Winners received trophies & Certificates from IIK. The lanterns were so creative and colorful that the judges chose 8 consolation prizes. The winners of the consolation prizes were Aafiya Arif of SIMS, Arooj Qayyom of Indian Public School, Swastik of IEAS Don Bosco, Cleon D'souza of Carmel, Fatima Zahra of Indian Learners own Academy , Dia Basil Aji of ICSK Amman, Faisal of Indian Central School

and Ammisetty Ganesh of Kuwait Indian School .

Fancy dress competition below 7 and above 7 sponsored by NHE Toys was another attraction at the Diwali Mela. The enthusiasm and zeal with which the children and their parents participated and performed was extremely commendable. Below 7 category Sahassra Gatamanani got First Prize where as Josel Mathew and Kanishka Aradhana got second and third prize respectively. Above 7 category Aashna Ram got first prize where as Abhiram Nagendra Brahma and Advaith Rajagopal got second and third prize respectively. Winners received Trophies and Gifts from NHE Toys.

For the first time at IIK Diwali Mela IWIK team organized Painting Competition for Men which was sponsored by IIK Bazaar. Amrut Lal Panchal got First Prize where as Manoj Kumar and Pawan Baronde got second and third prize respectively. Winners received Trophies and Gifts from IIK Bazaar.

Mital Mewada & Purvi Shah won the Best Dancing Couple at Dandya Dance Competition sponsored by Ooredoo. Siddharth Mod got the Best Costume award , Kamalakkannan B.V was selected as Best Dancing Boy and Nidhi Nair was selected as Best Dancing Girl. Winners received Trophies and Certificates from Ooredoo Officials.

Platinum sponsor for the event was Ooredoo. American Tourister, Tik Tok and Al Muzaini were Gold Sponsors. Provision- Printing & Supply printing material, IIK Bazaar and Kuwait Swedish Cleaning Services Co. were Associate Sponsors. Event was organized by Lemonade International.

More than 6000 crowd gathered at the IIK Diwali Mela, which marked one of its kind celebration among the Indian community in Kuwait.
