If they issue visa to an expat it is for the benefit of the country because he/she is expected to come and serve the state by working to the best of his/her ability and contribute to the success of the firm/organization which in turn helps to improve the state on the whole. Do they expect us to believe that they are hiring expats for the benefit of expats and not of the state? Or do they want expats to work for the benefit of the state, but for free. Expats come to work here because they feel they have a better opportunity here instead of their home country of earning more and supporting their families in a better way. So it is already a two way deal where the state benefits as well as the Expat. Kuwait does not pay more to an expat than what he/she deserves for the services he/she provides for sure. It is not as if they pay us for something that we do not do. So how is it ethical for them to expect to benefit from our remittances that we do from our hard-earned money.

Truth is they do not have brains to find ways of managing their economy and all the wasteful expenditures of their spoilt population which has been made redundant & non-productive because of the state's spoon feeding and cradle to grave policy.

There are no policies for minimizing state expenditure and maximizing investments for increasing the GDP. Now that the Oil market is in the glut they cannot figure out how to provide for their ever demanding citizens. So we expats are the soft targets as a result.

The best way to deal with this is for Governments to force the Companies that bring foreign manpower to transfer a major part of the salary of expats in their home country banks and just pay certain percentage in our local banks so that we can manage our expenses here. The Companies will be forced to pay the charges and will most certainly take the Kuwaiti Government & Parliament to task and ensure that this thing never takes off.

Kindly note any expatriate sending money is hard earned money and saved by not spending even on essentials, for this is the only money that will be one's pension till death. If one's savings are to be taxed then such tax collection should provide pension for every expatriate after quitting job till one's death. Taxing hard earned savings for one's pension is worse than cannibalism and against principles of natural justice. I doubt any country to stoop down to such cheap levels of injustice to suck one's pension / hard earned savings. God Bless All!

Its OK for them to put 1 KD/ 2 KD tax for each remittance transaction but not to harass by other means.

without benefiting the state?
how much money does the exchange company make per annum?
highest profits are made by telecom companies.
if they make new flyover let them charge toll for the next 5 years until its paid for.
Even buses should pay tolls.
tolls can help finance new flyovers and underground passes.

so expatriates are bought to this country to build roads, hospitals, schools etc and are seen as eyesore when they use this infrastructure. Is this the level of maturity !!
