Pioneer & Producer of regular hit shows in Kuwait, Indian Cultural Society Presented a week long theatrical bonanza
*Kashmakash* & *Jashn e Bhism Sahni* On 27th Jan & 3rd Feb.
The event was officially inaugurated by H.E. Sunil Jain, Ambassador of India to Kuwait accompanied by Dr. Gargi Jain. Tribute dance presented by rockers of The Dancing Divas followed by solo song of renowned organizer Anant Kapadia ji in memory of legend Mukesh.
Event Souvenir was released in the presence of eminent guests & sponsors who graced the evening were, Sharif M. Rangrez (MD- Eternity Trv.), Ashish Tandon (GM- KAICO), Nitin Singhvi ( CFO- ATC), H. Mukherjee (CM-Air India ), Shahzad Gidwani ( GM- Murad Yusuf Behbehani Gr ) Ajay Goel (COO- City Centre), Ajaz Ahmed (MD- Sahara Ac Co) V.D. Kapoor (MD- Faisal Al Hulaifi Co.), Lali Singh (GSGC), Divyant Kapoor ( MD- Shourya Furnishing), senior citizen D. V. Malhotra (Chairman- Al Zahem & Malhotra) & Balvinder Singh (MD-Al Jazeera Co.). Mrs. Geetika, Mrs. Sarwat, Minhaj Shikari, Ahmed Morad (MM –KPC) & Regional Manager of Oriental Insurance Siddhart Mukharjee were also present. They spoke of Indo Kuwait friendship, cultural exchange, and contribution of India to the world and appreciated ICS efforts to promote art and culture along with campaign for “Noble cause & welfare services”. They praised the tremendous efforts & congratulated Ashfaque A Khan president Indian Cultural Society for his continue mission. ICS maintaining its uniqueness, to brings legends among the community. The packed crowd enjoyed theatrical bonanza with a thunderous applause.
Artists received standing ovation and ICS presented mementos to them.
First presentation was satirical & wholesome entertainers play “KASHMAKASH” from IPTA group with legendry actors Anjaan Srivastav, Sulbha Arya and Avtar Gill. Kashmakash is translated from original Bengali Play by Debasis Majumdar. This was about exploitation of the needy classes by people in power. Unable to cope with the penury of his existence, the protagonist is forced by local politicians to transform himself into a freedom fighter. Qaisar Ali set the stage with his soulful patriotic song. Prior to another play, team ICS in collaboration with Air India organized a dinner party with profound artists and prominent sponsors at Hotel Crowne Plaza Kuwait on 2nd Feb. it was also an occasion to celebrate birthday of Mr. H Mukharjee ( Country Head - Air India) and Mrs. Shagufta Khan event Manager ICS.
The presence of the living legend Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak, Heeba Shah, Manoj Pahwa, Seema Bhargav Pahwa, and the Kopal theatre team made it memorable.
'Jashn e Bhishm Sahni' the Five stories covered a gamut of emotions from Comedy to Nostalgia, to Social Satire. This was a very niche event with different stories, Dholak, OOB, Sir Ka Sadka, Yaadein & Samadhi Ramsingh, the attraction of three hours nonstop act. Play was curated and directed by Seema Bhargav Pahwa and staged by the illustrious cast of Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak, Seema Bhargava, Manoj Pahwa, Heeba Shah, Mayank Pahwa, Rakesh Chaturvedi, and Manukriti Pahwa.
This was ICS presented high techno, superb stage decor & well organized event in Kuwait.
With this very successful show, ICS raised the benchmark for itself. It will be a tough act to follow but going by their past record, ICS will again rise to the occasion.
Sr. Executive Mr. James Paul was responsible & did a perfect commendable job in setting up of stage furniture, props and relevant requirements.
F/B Head Rajesh Shawhney ensured best hospitality with refreshments was provided to the Platinum lounges in both the events. Mr. Harpreet Malhotra (Marketing Head) and Mrs. Shagufta Khan (Event Manager) has taken care of all wings.
The hard work of the ICS team & ability to deliver quality entertainment on time has indeed become a model for live events in Kuwait. Creative head Preeti Malhotra has played vital role to make coordination of green room & back stage process with Umm e Hani and Aditi Singh. Auditorium management & guest taken care by senior executives Shahzad Chaudhry, Abazar Badshah, Nikki Shawhney, Anu Singh, M. Lokhandwala and Nitu Singh. Stars management was handled by Harpreet Malhotra and Ashfaque A Khan. Security control by special commandoes of Marafi Kuwaitia ensured the success of the show. Mr. Khan has announced the next musical event with high rank artist in coming months.
