The Indian Community School, Senior Branch, organized a colourful Blessing Ceremony for 285 outgoing students of Class XII on 16th February, 2017, at the ICSK Senior Branch auditorium. The Honorary members of ICSK Board of Trustees, Principals and Vice Principals of all the branches of ICSK, Teachers, Parents and special invitees were present on the occasion. The event climaxed with a walk of the graduating students with candles, symbolizing sparks of wisdom, in their hands across the auditorium amid thunderous applause by the audience consisting mainly of their parents.

Dr. V. Binumon, Principal of ICSK Senior, welcomed the gathering. He exhorted the students to scale the heights of success through persistence and hard work. He reminded the students that blessings were integral in order to achieve success in life, along with the fruits of hard work one put in.

To invoke the blessings of the Almighty, the invited dignitaries lit the ceremonial lamp. A melodious inspirational tune was rendered by the members of the School Choir, Sawranjali. He recalled his ambition and the hard work he put in to achieve the same. He advised the students to work tirelessly to achieve their goals in life. His Excellency Mr. Sunil Jain also advised them not to forget our Mother Land India where ever students may reach professionally in their future. The reminisces shared by the student representatives, Ms.Vanesa Emilia Swares, Master Akash Ramesh Kumar, Ms. Madhumitha Venugopal and Ms. Anjali Santha Kumar brought back the images of bygone years into the minds of all the distinguished members. The principal and teachers eulogised the students for their academic excellence and discipline. They also hoped they would make their alma mater, parents and friends proud as they grow up further. The guests too wished them all success. Mementoes imprinted with their name & photos and certificates were presented to the students by the Chief Guest, the Hon. Chairman, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Vice Chairman and Hon. Jt. Secretary of the Board of Trustees in addition to Branch School Principals. All the students were escorted by their parents to the stage to receive the mementoes. The class wise photo session was arranged for the graduates.

Kuruvilla, the Vice-Principal of Senior Branch, read out the promises to be kept by the newly graduated students. As the students took oath, they received the lit candles that also signify the dispelling of darkness of ignorance as also conveyed by the ICSK motto 'From Darkness to Light'. The ceremony concluded as the students were blessed by teachers as they walked through the 'corridor of blessings', ready to step out of school and face the outside world with hope and confidence. A special dinner was arranged for the students at the end of the programme.
