The stabbing incident against the Indian nurse in Abbasiya last week takes a new turn when the husband of the nurse registered a formal complaint to the Indian Embassy against his co-worker.
Mr Bijo, husband of Gopika, who was attacked last week in front of her house in Abbasiya while coming back from duty, registered a formal complaint with Indian Embassy against Mr Prabhakaran Periyasami from Tamil Nadu.
Prabhakaran was working with Nissan Al Babtain workshop as technician. According to sources there was a financial dispute between Prabhakaran and Gopika's husband Mr Biju. As per investigating authority, Prabhakaran left the country within three hours of the attack last Tuesday.
“It is believed that Mr Prabhakaran left this country and went to India within hours of the attack. We will be forwarding this case to Indian authorities for taking further action and to bring justice to the victim”, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Mr Sunil Jain told IndiansinKuwiat.com
Meanwhile, the police verified the CCTV footage from the nearby shops and identified similarity between the culprit and Mr Prabhakaran. The Victim also confessed that the attacker had similarity with Prabhakaran.
Indian staff nurse Gopika working at Jahra hospital was stabbed in an attempted robbery incident at Abbasiya on Tuesday morning while she was coming back home after finishing her duty. She under went a surgery at Farwaniya hospital and her condition is out of danger.
Earlier it was believed that the attack is part of the regular robbery attempt against Indian community in Abbasiya. External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj reacted strongly to the attack and asked Indian Embassy in Kuwait to take up the incident with authorities at the "highest level".
