Kuwait City Mar Thoma Parish celebrated Kudumba Sangamam 2017

The 15th Parish Festival – Kudumba Sangamam of Kuwait City Mar Thoma Parish was held in a grand gala manner at the Indian Central School premises on February 25, 2017. The celebration commenced at 8 am with variety of entertainment programs by Sunday school children. The public meeting was inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Euyakim Mar Coorilos Episcopa, the Diocesan Bishop of the Diocese of Kottarakara-Punalur, who spoke on the Parish Festival’s theme Nature – A Gift of God.

His Grace Euyakim Mar Coorilos Episcopa exhorted in his speech, that it is our obligation to take care of Earth and ensure that the natural resources in this world that God has entrusted us with, are used responsibly. The ceremony was presided by the Parish Vicar Rev. Georgie Varghese. A souvenir on the occasion was released by His Grace Euyakim Mar Coorilos Episcopa by handing over a copy to Martin Thomas, The Managing Director of Favorite Homes. Rev. Santhosh Philip – Vicar St. Peters Mar Thoma Parish, Rev. Saji Abraham – President, Kuwait Episcopal Churches Fellowship, Rev. C.C. Sabu – St. Paul's CSI Church Ahmadi Kuwait, Mr.M. Vincent – Member of Legislative Assembly, Kerala, Andrew Denby, Mathews Varghese, Abey Varicad, Laji Jacob, Mathew Varghese, Lansu Baby, spoke on the occasion.

The public function was followed by a variety of programs including dance, skits and plays by the members of the parish. The major attraction of the day was the devotional musical concert led by the distinguished play back singer G. Venugopal and ably assisted by Immanuel Henry and Radhika Narayanan. The singers with their devotional selections mesmerized the audience by the mellifluous rendering of the songs that not only voiced the benevolence of God but also the melodious feel of the tracks. Junior and Senior choirs of the Church rendered songs during the event.

The festival also provided a day of enjoyment to the palates, as food was served from stalls for all gathered evoking the nostalgic feel and enjoyment that came straight from Kerala. The nostalgic feel evoking – ‘Thattukada’ served traditional and mouthwatering dishes. Fast Food, Homemade food, Nadan Lunch and Food stalls with Kerala kitchen serving traditional food was part of the event.

Shinkari melam, Games Villa, Face Painting, Albutha Cheppu, Bingo, Raffle draw and other programs also added glitter to the event.The event concluded at 7.30PM
