Decision to increase charges of medical services for expatriates is on track

Thursday, March 30, 2017

The decision to increase the charges of medical services offered to expatriates will be enforced, said Minister of Health Dr Jamal AlHarbi.

According to Al-Rai daily, he said that there is no intention to retract that decision. The decision will be enforced following completion of the necessary preparations in terms of the mechanism for payment of the charges.

According to the report submitted by the Parliament’s Health Committee concerning expatriates’ health insurance, the sponsors who send visas to expatriates they invite to Kuwait, must attach insurance policy for them. This insurance policy allows the visitor to receive medical services for free in private hospitals during his stay in Kuwait.

Dear Expats!
Most of the expats will be disappointed by the news of imposing/increasing medical charges as well as increase in electricity from 2 fils to 5 fils.
And it will be an additional burden to all of us.
However,It will then have impact on housing market and rent will come down as well. So, we all will move to cheaper accomodation and save that money taken from us.
Lets see how things work out.

Kuwait has now got scapegoats (expats) to make money from the medical services provided to them. Day by day Kuwait is degrading its own reputation in the international arena by discrimination. Medical facilities hikes should be applied equally to all nationalities which will have a positive effect on the economy of Kuwait. Kuwaiti MPs are afraid of its citizens who will respond with a negative attitude. Expats will not be here forever, one day expats will exit from this country, then who will pay the hiked price? Come on Kuwait MPs come to your senses!!! Have you all been deceived by greed?!!!
