The ministry of electricity and water said that the new power and water charges on apartments will come into effect from Aug 22. Western countries have closed borders and have limited intake. All those who were waiting till the last minute are going to be disappointed.

We (expats) will have to dig deep our pockets. As of my knowledge no country in the world has segregated/exempted their citizens from electricity/water hike. Kuwait is the first country in the world who has projected discrimination even in the hike of water/electricity rates. What a way of extracting money from expats!!! Kuwait should keep in mind that expats will not be here forever, whenever the situation deteriorates expats will start leaving this country to their home country or migrate to western countries for better living standards. Hike in infrastructure - Water, Electricity should be equal to all irrespective of nationality/race.
