Blessen George Memorial Volleyball Tournament starts today

4th BLESSEN GEORGE MEMORIAL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT to commence on May 10, 11 & 12 (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday respectively), it was officially announced at the Press Meeting held at Kuwait Volleyball Association Office in Kuwait Olympic Committee Building.

Blessen George Foundation International (BGFI), which aims to promote the game of Volleyball and Sports in Kuwait and India, will hold it’s 4th BLESSEN GEORGE MEMORIAL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT at Al Shabab Stadium in Ahmadi from 10 to 12 May 2017 with the support of Kuwait Volleyball Association (KVA).

The matches will start at 4 pm on the first day (10th May) and at 6 pm on other days. Kuwait Volleyball Association, Mr. Waleed A. Aman, will inaugurate the Tournament.

Six Teams will compete in the Tournament, which include 3 Kuwaiti Teams containing Players from Kuwait National Team and Kuwait Clubs and 3 Indian Teams which has Players from Indian National, State and Club Teams. The winning Team, the runner-Up and third placed Teams will be presented Trophies and Cash Awards.

Outstanding sportspersons from all Indian Schools nominated by the respective School management will be honored during the Tournament as part of Blessen George Foundation International’s objectives of encouraging talented sportspersons among the younger generation.

The Tournament is aimed to perpetuate the memory of former Kerala University, State, Kerala Police, Kerala Electricity Board, Abu Dhabi Police, Al Ain Sports Club and Indian National Teams Volleyball Player (all-rounder), late Blessen George and this is the 4th edition of the Tournament. President Mr. Waleed Aman, Secretary General Mr. Abdulla K. Enezi, Blessen George Foundation Chairman Mr. Oommen George, Secretary General Mr. Chessil Cherian Ramapuram, Treasurer Mr. P.T. Samuelkutty, Public Relations Committee Chairman Mr. Sam Pynummoodu, Media & Publicity Convener Mr. Raju Zachariahs, General Conveners Mr. Kishor Sebastian and Mr. George Easow, Directors Mr. George Joseph, Mr. Sajeev Narayan, Rajesh George and Technical Committee Director D.K. Dileep attended the Press Meeting in which representatives of top print and visual media.

(Due to inconveniences found lately at Mangaf Indoor Stadium of Fahaheel Sports Club where the Tournament was originally planned to be held, the Venue has been shifted to Al Shabab Indoor stadium in East Ahmadi, neaer Mustafa Karam Roundabout).
