Mother’s Day Celebrations at the Kindergartens of Bhavans.

The modern Mother’s Day began in the United states, at the initiative of Ann Reeves Jarvis in the early 20th century. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, during the months of March and May. Mother’s Day is a celebration honouring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in the society.

People across the world pay tribute to their mothers by offering them flowers, gifts and also by being in their company on that day. Schools organize special Mother’s Day programs, children make special cards for their mothers, sing songs and thus express the immense love they have for their mothers.

Kindergarten is the right place and time for all kinds of celebrations. Children begin to learn the importance of celebrations and relationships here. Mother’s Day was celebrated in the Kindergarten of IES Bhavans and Jack and Jill Nursery at Mangaf, on the 13th of May 2018. It was indeed a celebration of motherhood. Stories were narrated, and songs were played. Mother’s Day cards were coloured by the children. The bulletin board was decorated with the picture of Mother and child, hearts and roses. Class photographs were clicked. The children embraced their teachers and showered them with love and kisses. The day came to an end with a special note:” Mothers are indeed the greatest gift of God to Humans!”.
