NAFO Anniversary - "KADAL" upsurges musical reverberations

NAFO Kuwait (National Forum Kuwait) celebrated its 14th Anniversary in a colorful and splendid manner on Friday, May 26th, at the spectacular ambiance of the most sophisticated art theater of American United School, Sabah-Al-Salem.

The inaugural meeting started with the National Anthem of Kuwait and India, followed by the soothing Vedic invocation chants of NAFO Symphony kids into the silent and serene venue. A brief audiovisual documentary, on the socio-welfare activities and mega cultural shows of NAFO was showcased.

The meeting observed a minute silence in respect of deceased Senior Indian Citizen and highly regarded expatriate community leader Late Sunny Mathews, as a gesture of NAFO’s respect and commemoration.

Chief Guest, U.S. Sibi, Second Secretary-Indian Embassy inaugurated the function by lighting the traditional lamp, along with the NAFO Office Bearers, Advisory Board, Program Convener and Ladies’ Wing Chief Co-ordinator.

General Secretary Vijaykrishnan welcomed the Chief Guest and the gathering. Vijayakrishnan briefed the recent activities and also about the relevance of the active role of young Nafoitans in the working front to implement the planned future activates with a changed approach. President O. N. Nandakumar delivered a Presidential address and his inspiring Anniversary message. Nandakumar briefed about NAFO’S socio-welfare activities and the program as a whole.

In his inaugural address, U.S. Sibi congratulated NAFO for their commitment towards extending welfare assistance to the downtrodden and oppressed sections of the society. He further praised the NAFO team for their continued efforts in carrying out such noble services. He also appreciated the NAFO family for its relentless services to the humanity and promoting the rich Indian cultural heritages in Kuwait. Chief Guest wished all success to its future socio-welfare activities. NAFO Advisory Board member B.S. Pillai rendered a felicitation speech and greeted the function.

On behalf of NAFO, Chief Guest U.S. Sibi was honored with a memento by President Nandakumar, for his commendable leadership and humanitarian services rendering to the Indian diaspora in Kuwait in a short span of time.

Thereafter the Chief Guest released Anniversary Souvenir, by collecting a copy from the Editor M.S. Nair and handed over to Shaiju Mohandas, Dy. General Manager of LULU Exchange Co. and to the delegates of main sponsors who were invited to the dais.

Program Convener, Madhu G. Menon, in his vote of thanks expressed gratitude to dignitaries, guests, esteemed sponsors, media friends’, and NAFO family members attended the function. He also thanked music band KADAL for their benevolent participation and the Management of American United School for providing the most beautiful auditorium and premises.

This year’s celebration showcased an overall improvisation with the astonishing stage performances by NAFO Ladies’ and children co-ordinated by NAFO Ladies Wing, followed with a musical extravaganza “Kadal” featured high voltage folk-rock band which carried the audience on a humungous upsurge of musical reverberations.

Main sponsors, Band Artistes and NAFO Choreographers were presented with mementos and a full course dinner was served to all the attendees.

Excellent compeering by Darshana Jayadevan, Vrichika Vinayan and Sheethal Rajiv Menon mystically guided the audience throughout the event.

NAFO re-affirmed the fact that this organization has always strived vigorously to achieve its objective of becoming a bridge in-between member families and also NAFO well-wishers.
