His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Thursday sent a condolence cable to Indian President Pranab Mukherjee over victims of fl oods and landslides triggered by heavy rain in the two northeastern states of Assam and Arrunachal Pradesh northeastern the country.

In the cable, His Highness the Amir voiced sincere and heartfelt condolence over the loss of lives and wished speedy recovery for the injured.

His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar cables.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim sent cables of condolences to his counterparts in India over the victims of fl oods which struck north of the country.

The cables were sent to Chairman of India’s Rajya Sabha (upper house) Mohammad Hamid Ansari and Speaker of the Lok Sabha (lower house) Sumitra Mahajan. The floods have killed at least 40 people and have inundated a national park, which houses a rare species of rhinoceros
