India opens overseas Nursing recruitment for private agencies

India government issued a new directive which allows private recruitment agencies to recruit Indian nurses for overseas employment. According to new directive, private agencies also can recruit Indian nurses along with the six government agencies.

Earlier India government stopped the overseas recruitment of Indian nurses by private agencies after receiving large number of corruption allegation were the recruitment agents collecting 6000 to 10,000 KD as bribe for Nurses recruitment to ministry hospitals. These companies collected thousands of dinars from each nurse for his/her recruitment without abiding by the necessary standards and specifications and without checking whether the nurses were fit for the job professionally, medically, socially, or even morally. Based on this, India government restricted government agencies from Kerala, Tamilnadu, Andhra, Telengana and UP only to handle the overseas recruitment of Indian Nurses.

Later private agencies from other part of India approached the court against this directive and received a favourable reply from the court. According to sources, the new directive, which enables any private agencies to recruit nurses for overseas, is issued under these circumstances.
