Study propose ban on expats owning more than one car

Thursday, October 12, 2017

General Traffic Department completed a study on the number of vehicles and the capacity of the roads of the country. Accordingto local meida report, the study recommends banning GCC nationals, Arabs and other foreigners from owning more than one car, similar to the ban imposed on Bedoun residents in the country.

The study reveals the existence of about 1.9 million vehicles traversing the roads of the country even though these roads have the capacity of bearing only 1.2 million vehicles.

The daily also added that the study recommend a regulation for the car registration process for expatriates, adding that the road projects currently being implemented will reduce the traffic congestion witnessed on most of the roads in the country.

My opinion is that, Compulsory school transportation for Local's students .School should make compulsory transportation. Usually you will find many car with driver/maid for Arab's and american school why they cant use school transportation instead of each student each car.
See indian and pakistanies school No crowd out side like Arab schools,Only transportation buses will be outside .

Dear Traffic Dept ,
You are wasting your time and think logic
At this point To tell you that 80% expats living in kuwait are having just 1 car for thier family . However they would happy to go by private transport OR if Good regular many Govt . buses or Metro rail or trains have developed .
Yours eyes should go on the citizen -- ofcourse it is not my business to say as it is their country ---- But please note nearly 98 % of locals have atleast 8 cars parked outside their house for each members from Head to tail family memebers like this you calculate Kuwait country is not vast and the locals population is 1.8 million .. So how much cars should be ??? and then include the trucks and company cars.
Expats would take advantage if more Govt buses ,metro /mona rail and trains are made ....

By banning expriates to keep two cars will not solve problems, but instead change the locations of the offices of Govt and banks to different locations of the country, and also change the timings of Govt and private companies and shops. You will find much difference in traffic jam. Schools should start from 8.00 am , Govt offices from 9.00 am , Banks should start from 9.30 am and private businesses from 10 am . Try this procedure you will find relief.

how does it matter if an expat owns more than one car. He/she cant be driving two cars at the same time adding to the traffic congestion !! think better rather than vindictive and hateful towards expats. car buying expats are beneficial for local economy since they are investing their monies within the economy rather than bus travelling expats shipping off savings abroad. .. think .. think .. !!

Who are we to advise them where in our country our PM is busy in making a 100000 crores bullet train to cut shut a journey from 6 to 3 hours while people are struggling without toilets and good roads.
Who are we to advise them where our rulers are busy in building 2900crore Vallabia patel's and Shivaji's use less statue to defecate for birds where as most of our roads are filthy with mud and pot holes .
Kuwait has better advisors whom they are hiring from Europe and other developed countries , so don't be lessen yourself by making nonsense comments.

Even if an expat has more than 1 car. He/She is going to drive only
one car at any given time.
So what is the logic of not allowing expats to own more than 1 car.

i wonder how countries with multi-million cars and limited budget handle the traffic issues and here in a rich country with only 1.9 million cars, officials are totally clueless and turning everything upside down to solve the traffic problem...what a pity...guess money cannot overpass brains..hhahaha

Dear Sir,
Instead on concentrating on making flyover for Boubyan & Jahra where it is not crowded traffice . please concentrate on sensitive areas in capital area on all ring roads.
It is high time to wake up and built additional flyover especially on all the ring road starting from the 1st ring road till the seventh ring road ..
This will surely solve all the problem and will be at ease..

Opinion: Instead of banning people from owning more than 1 car.
Put a tab on the number of cars that can be imported in a year.
