Bhavans Celebrates ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.’

Indian Educational School celebrated ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (the National Day for Unity) on 31st October, 2017 to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who is one of the founding leaders of the Republic of India, popularly referred to as the ‘Iron Man of India.’ He was well known for protecting the unity of the post-independent India.

The day began with a morning assembly by the students. Lakshmi Nanda of grade six spoke at length about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, his achievements and contribution to India.

Abraham Philip and Ayyub Khan Pathan of class 7B dressed up as the eminent personality Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and conveyed the message of great Sardar Vallabhai Patel.

In connection with ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ all the students of grade V to X were asked to make posters and write slogans on the theme ‘Unity in diversity.’ Colorful posters and eye-catching slogans were written by the young artists of IES Bhavans. Posters and slogans were displayed on the various noticeboards and all the future custodians of the nation keenly observed the day with brimful pride and patriotism. Many questions asked by the students about the Iron Man of India and his role in uniting the nation itself manifested the success of observing the day. The programme ended with a patriotic song by the school choir. The school principal Mr. T.Premkumar thanked all the students who enthusiastically partook in celebrating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel and conveyed a great message on the importance of the day to the young learners of IES.

The program was organized under the aegis of Mr. Binoy Mathew, the HoD, Social Studies and the senior teachers of the department, Ms. Aswathy Rengan and Ms. Ramila Miranda along with all the members of the Social Science Department. The principal also thanked the department for their initiative in this regard and the boundless enthusiasm displayed the members of the faculty throughout the program.
