Tuesday, December 5, 2017

Assistant Undersecretary for Consumer Affairs in the Ministry of Electricity and Water Dr Mishal Al-Otaibi said the ministry is ready to install the first batch of smart meters in Kuwait by early December 2018, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to report, the ministry will take delivery of sufficient quantity of smart meters soon to serve all parts of the country.

The ministry currently collects nearly KD 27 million in revenue from consumers monthly, and expected the installation of smart meters will save the sector KD 400 million in operation cost annually, indicating two billion dinars is spent in operating the power stations and installations each year.

Excellent decision. Though clicking a picture and updating the reading self is NOT that effort oriented, smart meters could make our lives even simpler.
Hoping to see the fiber optic rollout happens across Kuwait soon...which is due from last so many years. All the best Kuwait Government
