Sunday, December 24, 2017

Physical exercises are very important for the overall physical and mental well being of a child. The children are trained to run, jump, hop etc. along with other physical activities related to it. So, sports contribute a lot to enhance the overall development of a child. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Through sports children not only learn new games, but also learn team spirit. They learn to accept failure and defeat at a very tender age. Sports also enhances the self-esteem and confidence in the children.

We, at Bhavans IES and Jack and Jill, provide a consolidated learning system which include art, music, narration and sports. As competitions are conducted in music, art, show and tell etc., so also an exclusive sports day is conducted for the little kindergarteners. Preliminary races are conducted for each item which include running race, hanging the sock, beading the thread etc. and selection is done separately for both boys and girls. The final list is prepared, and the finalists compete on the main sports day. The sports day was held on the 29th of October 2017. The Physical Education teachers of KG, made all the necessary arrangements and the PED teachers of other departments also extended their full support to make this event a memorable one for the children. The children cheered for their classmates as they competed, and the winners were declared after each race. The prize distribution was held on the 13th of November 2017. The children were awarded with medals and certificates by the principal and the vice principal.
