The Budding Scientists of FAIPS-DPS at Shaastrotsav

With a view to encourage, popularize and inculcate scientific temper, Shaastrotsav – Festival of Science 2017-18 was held at Zumerida Hall on 8th December. The event was graced by Mr. Anant Kumar of Super 30 fame. The event saw 140 young, enthusiastic participants from 17 Indian schools in Kuwait putting up exhibits comprising innovative working models and investigation based projects. Students of FAIPS-DPS showcased their scientific fervor and won prizes in all three categories- Senior, Junior and Open Category and finally bagged the coveted Overall trophy for the Best School.

Aaron John, Esakkivel Esakkiraja and Sriram Karthik bagged first prize in Senior Category for their project Smart Eye, Punnya J Sunil, Danah Mohammed and Florence Sebastian won second prize in Junior Category for the project Electricity free water pumping system. In the Open Category, first prize was claimed by Kaushik Damle and Anirudh Kurma for the project Cloud Chamber, second prize by Afraz for the project Rescue from Bore well and third prize was won by Shane S Thomas, R Kumaravendhan and Hiritikk Kumar for their project Robotic Arm.

The judges appreciated the novel ideas of the participants. The exhibition provided a platform to scientific experimentation and innovation to the future scientists of DPS. It must be acknowledged that a huge credit goes to the Science teachers for their tireless and dedicated efforts. Nothing would have been possible without the guidance and support of the Principal, Ms. Anju Dheman who always remains a beacon of inspiration.
